
Musical Theather has been popular by interpreting someone’s life through song. Many famous icon’s lives have been featured already and come a success. Lately, over the news, a new musical even will be shown featuring Yves Saint Laurent.
It all started out as an album by French singer and composer Alain Chamfort. He was was approached by lyricist Dominique Burgaud about recording the Saint Laurent tribute in 2008, a few months before the YSL Shoes designer and mythic couturier died. “I thought it was a strange idea. Who will find this interesting?” However, after carrying out much research on Saint Laurent’s life, Chamfort decided “It was a legitimate project”.

Celebrities might died but their popularity still lives on. This year, Forbes Magazine named Yves Saint Laurent as the highest earning dead celebrity. Died of brain cancer in June 2008 and the bulk of his earnings came from the sale of most of his possessions, fashion designs, including art, furniture and antiques, in February. Saint Laurent, as a designer had produced YSL Shoes and bags and conquered the world of fahion for so many years.
Names that are not included is this year’s Forbes list are as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Steve McQueen.
Forbes senior editor Matthew Miller said that the earning power of dead celebrities – known in the royalties industry as “delebs” – was “more powerful than ever”. “The money may be drying up in Hollywood, but there’s still plenty of cash being made in the graveyard.” he added.
