Most Powerful Names in British Fashion

Great Britain is lucky to have so many fashion icons. As  a matter of fact there are so many fashion designers who are Brits. Aside from designers there are actresses and socialites who are involved much in the world of fashion. This year, as a celebraation of the The British Fashion Council’s press committee, they compiled ‘The Power List’ to let you know and to mark the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week.

There are 25 fashion icons on the list that were recognized. The list includes, famous fashion designers, celebrities, models and many others.

Here are the top ten who are included on the power list:

Manolo Blahnik is NOT a Sex in the City Fan?

Who among us girls is not a fan of the famous Sex in the City? I would surely know that most of us watched the movie and will watch the sequel right? Who’s the famous Designer that Carrie Bradshaw often mention aside form Jimmy Choo? Manolo Blahnik shoes!

Despite the fact that the popularity of  Manolo Blahinks designs are all over the world and most are being used by famous celebrities, and yes been used in movies, Manolo Blahnik revealed recently that he never ever watched Sex and the City. Funny isn’t it?  Although Blahnik, is such a firm favourite among the rich and famous that his first name alone is used to refer to his élite and  luxury footwear.

A show that, in fact, the designer of the leading lady’s favourite shoes has never watched, even on DVD.

“How can it be possible that my shoes are the most famous brand in the world?” A puzzled Manolo asked Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.

“People think that I must be really rich, but that’s not true. I’m just a designer who makes shoes, and with this type of work, you don’t become particularly wealthy.” he added.

I think it’s always good to be humble…just like Manolo Blahnik who I doubt is a man of kind words.
